In this interdisciplinary course, Cognitive Science students will work together with Ukrainian students from "English as a Foreign Language" programs to create a gamified online training platform for Academic English skills. It will be building up on an existing platform and will cover three phases and topics:
1st phase: Coverage of basic knowledge including some aspects from disciplines complementary to one's own field of study: linguistics and language didactics, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and aspects of software development.
2nd phase: Developing new additional concepts, tasks, and gamification elements for the existing learning app in small international and interdisciplinary groups with accompanying coaching and tutorial support.
3rd phase: Evaluation, documentation, and final presentation of the own developments and transfer of the platform into a longer-term operation.
The course will start and end earlier than regular winter term courses and will run from September to December.
